Hot Tub Care Guide

This guide has been provided to acquaint you with some of the proven chemical needs of your hot tub. This is a common sense approach to spa ownership and maintenance based solely on our personal experiences. There are no expressed or implied warranties contained herein.

1) Nature 2 / Pro Clear Cartridge
   a) This is a mineral cartridge that works with the salts in the water to naturally sanitize the spa.
   b) Staring with fresh water, install the cartridge with support stems attached into the core of the
circulation pump filter. (On Jacuzzi 300 and 400 series Hot Tubs, choose the filter with the grate fitting.)
   c) Broadcast one level teaspoon of granulated chlorine or 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons of MPS when getting out
of the spa for the day.
   d) A working ozonator is recommended but not required.
   e) Replace water and mineral cartridge every four months.

2) Spa Up and Spa Down

a) Spa Up and Spa Down help to maintain a normal pH zone in your spa. The pH levels must be in the
normal zone to allow your sanitation chemcals to do the job properly.
     b) pH levels need to be checked when spa water is changed or added.
     c) pH level should be checked approximately once per week or after a shock treatment (See #8)
     d) Add Spa Up or Spa Down as needed to adjust levels to normal.
     e) Recommended amounts on the label are for 350 gallon spas. Adjust accordingly for size of your spa.

3) Filters, Etc.
     a) The spa filter cartridge can be cleansed of course dirt and debris by washing inside and out with a
garden hose or faucet jet every 30 days. Do not use a pressure washer or car wash wand. The
concentrated water stream will damage the filter element.
     b) At the same time or as needed, invert and rinse out the skimmer bag. (Standard equipment on most
         Jacuzzi Hot Tubs.)
     c) Algae, suntan oil, and body oils can form a coating on the filter pleats which may not be thoroughly
removed by hosing. Such a film of algae and/or oils will rapidly clog up the filter's pores thereby
reducing filtration. We recommend soaking the cartridge semi annually in a solution of "Filter Clean".
Follow the label directions for proper use.
     d) A spare "stand-by" filter cartridge is an excellent investment. A freshened and well maintained filter
assures you that your spa filtering system will always be ready to operate at peak efficiency.

4) SeaKlear Natural Clarifier

One ounce every week helps to collect solids in the filter and coats them to make the
     filter easier to clean.

5) Stain and Scale Preventer

Use one to two ounces each week if calcium or lime buildup on the spa shell is a problem.

6) Shock
    a) Use one capful every 7 to 10 days according to label directions to
eliminate inpurities in the water. Frequency depends on usage of the
        spa.
    b) Check the pH levels after a Shock treatment.

7) Defoamer
     a) Use sparingly only when foam is present on water surface.
     b) Foam is quite frequently caused by residual soap in swimsuits. It's best
to run suits through a washing machine rinse cycle to reduce the
introduction of soap into the water.
     c) Do not allow cotton t-shirts or denim shorts into your spa, as the laundry
soap can never be totaly eliminated.

8) Swirl Away
     a) Use once or twice a year to clean jets, pumps and plumbing in your spa.
     b) Use according to the label directions. Be sure to shut off ALL air inlets and
injectors to minimize the amount of foam created by the cleaner.

9) Metal Gon
Metal Gon should be used when you are changing the water in your spa. Use this
product if your water is extremely hard or high in iron or other minerals. Metal Gon
solidifies these dissolved particles and traps them in the filter.

10) Fragrances
       a) We recomend the Spazazz products because they are aloe and not oil based
skin conditioners. Oil based will tend to make the water cloudy.
       b) Use only fragrances or conditioners approved for hot tub use. Other types can
clog the plumbing or ruin your filters.

11) Maintenance Contracts
We offer hot tub maintenance services to make spa ownership even more carefree. These
monthly contracts cover three vists per month to adjust chemical levels, shock the spa,
clean the filters and change the water three times per year. Call us for more information.

12) Insurance
When purchasing your spa, contact your insurance carrier to let them know
so your spa will be covered by your homeowner's policy.

13) Last But Not Least

Enjoy your spa and let it become a part of your daily routine. A spa can be a great source of personal
and family enjoyment and therapy or it can be a major sourse of frustration. Our hope is that this quick
